This book makes flower making easy for even the simplest minded. It has wonderful color illustrations and detailed step by step instructions. Only a couple of times near the end of the book did I find missing steps, but by then, if you read the rest of the book, those steps would have already been imbedded in your head as something you would automatically do.

Exploring themes of love, jealousy, rivalry and ennui A Month in the Country is just one example of Turgenev's brilliance. A Provincial Lady, written in 1851, was a comedy in one act. As Richard Freeborn wrote in 1994, 'Turgenev's comedy has often been called Chekhovian, even though it preceded Chekhov's mature work by more than forty years'. A Poor Gentleman (1840s) was a two-act play whose themes were compared to the works of Nikolai Gogol, a writer that Turgenev greatly admired and was influenced by. It was for writing an obituary for Gogol that Turgenev found himself arrested and imprisoned for a month, having managed to publish the obituary despite its being banned by the censor.

Born in Orel in central Russia in 1818 Ivan Turgenev studied at the universities in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Berlin and worked briefly for the civil service before turning to writing. He wrote several novels that examined the social, political and philosophical issues of the time as well as many plays and short stories. Living mainly in Baden-Baden and Paris Turgenev was acquainted with a variety of influential writers and met Dickens and Trollope among others on his travels to England. He was widely perceived to be the first major Russian writer to achieve great success in Europe. Turgenev died in Paris in 1883. The subtitle of Richard Garnett's biography (reissued in Faber Finds) of his grandmother, Constance Garnett (1861-1946) is A Heroic Life. It couldn't be more apt. She remains the most prolific English translator of Russian literature: twelve volumes of Dostoevsky, five of Gogol, six of Herzen (his complete My Past and Thoughts), seventeen of Tchehov (her spelling), five of Tolstoy, eleven of Turgenev and so on. Many of these will be appearing in Faber Finds. In all she translated over sixty works. It is not, however, the sheer quantity that is to be celebrated, though that in itself is remarkable, it is more the enduring quality of her work. We entertain a lot, and there is nothing better than a dish that lets friends help themself whenever they like. The variety in this book is so wonderful ~ delicious gems that are unique and delicious. Directions are simple and comprehensive - call me when you have a pot ready and I'll be right over with the Sangria!

Good choices and good recipes

I saw a copy of this book just after having a bowl of chili at the Maine Diner and ordered it later that day with my reward points. I was pleased to find another local restaurant whose chili I admire was in here too, that being the Portsmouth Brewery. I made their recipe and it seemed like a very close and authentic rendition of the chili served in the restaurant, and it received rave reviews from my dinner guest. That's the only one I have made so far, but I am eager to try all of the others included. Just wish I could visit all of these diners and restaurants in person... other then the Maine Diner I won't know if the others are authentic or not, but they do look good! The pictures in the book are nicely done and the text is well laid out and easy to follow, and I like that it opens flat. I wish all cookbooks did.

A challenging piece on meeting God face to face.

F.B. Meyer's quiet language slices through complacency to awaken in a tired, sometimes disillusioned soul the hunger to know the God that Moses met, worshiped, served and came to know intimately. I found myself wanting to devour the work in one sitting; yet, needing to pause after each chapter to allow the depth of teaching to take hold. His style is one of conversation rather than dislogue. You become intimately a part of Moses journey through Meyer's sincere love and hunger to know God.

Great Little Book, Don't Let The Size Fool You!

"Moses Servant of God" by F.B. Meyer is one of the best biographies I have read, period! While the book is small(only around 190 pages), it's a great read and encourages the reader to see how Moses got to know and experience God.

Among the topics covered include:

1. Allow God to let failure and disappointment draw you closer to Him.
2. Deliberately spend time alone with God! While this book was written several years ago, in my humble opinion, spending time alone with God is a precious commodity today!
3. Learn to rest in God instead of striving in your flesh.
4. Let God have His way with you and develop character in you.
5. Fear God instead of fearing other people.

I checked this book out of a local church library and will probably refer to the title again sometime in the future.

Highly recommended. Read, enjoy, think, and be challenged to grow in the Lord!

In-depth lessons and applications for us today

Moses, the Servant of God (Classic Reprint). This is an in-depth book written by F.B.Meyer that scholarly brings out the applications we tend to be unaware of. The life of Moses is well displayed in the word of God but the information contained in this book will elaborate on the details and carefully paint pictures on the canvas of our hearts, allowing his life to shed truths about the journeys we will find ourselves in. Preachers will enjoy this greatly as each chapter is loaded with sermon ideas and principles in God's word that will challenge others to climb higher in their Christian attributes. You will want to digest this material slowly while meditating on the truths contained.
Learn, for example, that the secrets to Moses growth in character were obedience, patience, courage, faith, and prayer. Woven throughout are realities that he was a mere human and suffered the frustrations of life, yet did not succumb to quitting, but in fact grew close to the heart of God and was entrusted with increasingly more. Just how God shapes a man into a useful, trustworthy vessel will be revealed. Life is a process, and learning is a lifetime; Moses knew well it would not be a sprint but in the marathon of life he ran, he will stand before us with lessons to encourage our pilgrimage.
Because of the excellence in which the late F.B.Meyer writes, it will be worth exploring other great works from him as well.

The only book you need to pass the CT registry with flying colors!!

This book is a God send! Thank you Mr. Demaio for creating it! Our facility is set to be ACR accredited by January 2013 and my manager pretty much made it clear that I gotta have my CT license or medicare won't pay for our patients. I was freaking out... I got the MIC book, but it was like 1000 pages long and that freaked me out even more.. I then stumbled upon this book and read the reviews on it. This was going to be a hit or miss mission I needed to accomplish. Mind you I also am working full time here. I studied the whole weekend for 12 hours straight and from 4-9pm every day for 5 days.. I just took to registry test to AND PASSED WITH 93%!!!!!!!! WOOHOOO!!! I first took the 600 questions online that come with the book to see where my level was at (68 %). I then went to the end of the book and studied all the definitions.. (Like literally memorized them). I then read and studied the whole book (from cover to cover). I then took the practice tests at the end twice. I identified my weaknesses and the night before I went over my practice tests again and the questions online that I flagged. There were a lot of identical questions on this book that were on the registry test. The anatomy illustrated in the book is all you need!
To my fellow procrastinators... You can do this! The book's questions and explanations are easy to understand, and they are harder than the actual registry questions! Good luck everyone.. if I could do it.. so can you! :)

Great study tool for registry.

So, do not be fooled by this book! The questions contained in it are not going to be verbatim what is on the exam. However, ALL the information for you to pass the registry are contained within. I used this book along with another online tutor site that costed nearly $200/yr and looking back after the exam, the book was most helpful over the site. Get the book, and READ IT! Dont focus on the questions so much--they're just a guideline as to what you should expect format wise on the exam. The questions will be like they are in the book. T/F, pick 2 or pick 3 or anatomy ID. All the info is here. Great book. Get it, study it, keep it, reference it. Good luck!

Highly, highly recommended.

I bought this book, read it front-to-back, and took the 3 practice exams. Several questions on the ARRT CT Registry and cross-sectional images were identical to those in the practice exams. I studied using this book for approximately 40 hours and scored a 93 on the Registry. Highly, highly recommended. Spend the $50 and don't risk having to take the $400 exam more than once!
