An Amazing Book - One of the All Time Great English Poetry Anthologies

I used to pour over this book as a teenager, repeatedly taking it out of the public library and reading and re-reading the magical introduction and poems as mood struck. I'm not quite sure what made me want to re-read the book, I believe I saw a post on a book site in which someone was asking what Sarah Linnet Queek (one of the characters in the introduction), could be an anagram for (I've never been able to figure this one out either. But for some reason I just had to have this book.
It arrived on time with a library binding in very good condition. The introduction is just as mysterious and inspiring as it was when I was younger, and the poems are just as glorious. It sits on my kitchen table and I dip into it for a poetry fix at all hours. It's one of the few books I'll put down my Kindle for. The illustrations on the chapter headings are charming.

Back to the Whole Foods / Macro Source

I spend a lot of time assisting yoga teacher training with a woman who is a trained macro chef and whole foods advocate. Surprised she does not really use or refer to this book. I've really enjoyed this "back to the source" look at the macro movement and roots of the whole foods movement that are so prevalent in modern times.

Outstanding Collection of Rhymes and Poems for the Young of All Ages

This is an excellent anthology of short poems, and I am glad to have been directed to it by A Poet's Guide to Poetry by Mary Kinzie. The notes in the back of the book are an unexpected bonus and are well worth reading. With regard to the puzzle of Linnet Sara Queek, or Quek, or Cuec, or Cueque (the narrator says he does not know how to spell it), I suggest her name is Lynnet Sara Cueque, and an anagram for her name might be “Queer Uncany Tales.” “Uncanny” would need another “n,” obviously, but this is in line with the anagram for Taroone, in that it is by sound and not necessarily by exact spelling. The narrator says that Linnet Sara “could tell curious and rambling stories (as true as she could make them); and many of them were about the old days in Thrae, older days in Sure Vine, and about Miss Taroone.”
